FAQs

  • Short answer: It depends on your family and goals for the session.

Mini sessions are ideal for families who lead busy lives or have already done a session with me in the past year and just want a few up to date “classic family photos” to use on holiday cards. Because it's a shorter session, we'll work quickly to ensure that we capture that updated family photo. Due to the short nature of the session, these are ideal for kids that take direction well and won’t need extra time to warm up to the camera. These take place on Mondays at one of my favorite session locations in East Plano.

If you're looking for a curated and personalized experience, a full family session might be perfect for you. These are more relaxed and playful making them ideal for families with younger kids who may need the extra time to ease into the session and take breaks. With more time during the session, I’m able to get to know your family better and make sure everyone is comfortable before we start shooting. I’m also able to take my time and try out different poses, lighting, and areas of the location to get the perfect shot. This allows for more natural and candid shots, as well as posed portraits that showcase your family's personality and dynamic. Additionally, you’re able to choose the location from my location guide, have access to my client wardrobe, and receive an artwork collection of heirloom prints with your session.

  • I don’t have plans to host studio minis this year as they entail a lot of planning on the back end that I’m not willing to take on this year. Not gone forever, just this year. However, if your heart is set on a studio session I’m happy to provide availability for a full family session in the studio and I can bring my Christmas trees if requested. Please inquire here to book a studio session.

  • This year my weekends are strictly reserved for family time or creating special memories for clients wanting a fully personalized experience with me. Please inquire with me here about being added to the wait list in the event of a cancellation and I’m able to add a last minute mini session to my weekend calendar.

  • I totally understand the idea of messing with your child’s schedule may be daunting, but I promise it is always worth it! After years of experience, I’ve picked up few tips to help make the kids last a little later for a sunset session and I pull out all the tricks in my bag to get them engaged throughout the session. That said, you know your child best and if you know they absolutely cannot make it past bedtime from prior experience, please inquire here and I can provide availability for a sunrise session.

  • The sunlight is a crucial element of my photography style. If there’s rain, overcast or high winds, I’ll reach out as soon as possible to reschedule.

  • My online booking option is strictly for outdoor family and mini sessions. Studio sessions take place earlier in the day and require studio availability prior to booking. If this is something you’re interested in, please inquire here and I’ll be happy to provide availability for that type of session.

  • Fall is busy season for photographers. My turnaround time during the fall season is 4 weeks. If it’s going to be longer than that due to illness or other unexpected delays, I’ll reach out and update you with an expected delivery date.
